Diesel plant in Singapore will power the world.

Neste Oil , the Finnish firm builder of the world`s biggest green diesel plant in Asia , said that the $1.2 billion project was on time and on budget even in the present economic crisis.
Green Diesel
The plant is due to be completed in 2010. It is green in the sense it uses any vegetable oil or animal fat to produce renewable diesel . The source are the rejects from local oil wastes including the market organics waster fats content, which are regularly pumped away.
It is believe that the current slump in palm oil prices may have help the green diesel conversion industries.
Diesel wil be mandatory
The current opec oil price may have slump too, but the green requirements of the western countries and the mandatory use of sustainable energy will boost the biodiesel use for the long term. The project will therefore be on time and on schedule. Indonesian parliement has proposed that 15 percent of oil be from palm derivatives.
In a ceremony on March 6th. capsule containing a copy of The Straits Times and Finnish and Singapore currency were buried on the site of the plant.
The president of Neste that the local startup will be fully finance by itself, it will not need to borrow from the bank.
Solar Plant in Singapore

Also in a follow up story, the neigbour Norway's Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) has started building its estimated $6.3 billion solar cell plant here. The CEO Erik Thorsen said the firm was considering about financing for the second phase of the solar plant.The firm had other positive news too, announcing that it plans to hire up to 60 people by the end of this year with 100 for the next year.

Green initiative

The green initiative comes at a time when Singapore is investing the field of renewable energy for r and d in Singapore. So far it has given about $170 million grant for clean energy research and a further investments $1 billion to fund green projects in the budget. It is hoped that the start up will propel Singapore in the field of clean energy in the field of high oil prices in the world.

N S doctor dead under Bridge in Melbourne

A young doctor was found dead in Melboure, Australia under a bridge. Local police said that witness had seen Dr Allan Ooi stopping his car and getting out at 4 am in the morning ,at the Westgate Bridge spanning the Yarra River. The Great River Yarra link the city centre and the suburbs. It is believe he no one else was involved.

Investigations Ongoing
The investigation is continuing . Capt (Dr) Ooi has been absent since last October and the Ministry have been trying to contact him.
He had been uncontactable since then. His brother issued a statement to the Straits Times, saying 'He was a gifted doctor and a kind and respected friend. But to us, he was and always will be our beloved son and brother.'
Family flew in
His family flew in to be in Melbourne. His parents , both are doctors. Only his sister is a lawyer.
Thus the life of a young Singaporean has been lost. Perhaps, they need to investigate whether NS has affected him in any way.

Singapore`s Merlion struck by lightning on Crown.

Merlion Struck.
Nature has sparked the top of iconic Merlion standing at the exact spot the founder of Singapore first landed into Singa Pura, the original Singapore in 1819. The Singapore River, then was the only landing site the explorer could go ashore from the sea.
Storm and lightning
One stormy afternoon, the clouds darkens and opens up ,thunder and lightning storm across the darken tropical sky. A lucky lightning bolt hit a bull`s eye on the mane of the Merlion statue, forevers pewing seawater high onto the river, blessing one and all mariners and river riders.

A Giant Singapore Icon
The giant icon ,white and solitary, half lion and fish, scales bigger than a fist ,cracked a pieces or two. The pieces nearly hit the tourists having a photo moment below, a must see itinary for the tourists. One witness said that orange sparks were seen when the bolt of lightning flew into the top of the mane between 4pm and 5pm. The fallen pieces of scalp dented the Merlion. Does it bods ill for Singapore ? That it meant that the financial crisis will strike Singapore to the core ? Will blood gushes out and vigor and the higher sense cracked open ?

Singapore`s zoo performers on drug.

Night Safari performers on a high

The tribal performers at the Night Safari entertained the visitors well. Their twirls and fire throwing amazed the crowd . They put in the best for the audiences, Too much in fact ,when the troops, engaged by Zoo Singapore , were canceled indefinitely when on their off hours , three Malaysians based peformers were stopped at by the ICA at the causeway for possessing drugs. The drugs found were cannabis,ketamin and shabu.

Trafficking on the Side.

They were suspected to be trafficking ,which if found guilty and in great amount, would entails the death penalty.Singapore has alway a tough anti-drug law. The customers were suspected to be within themselves as the local inhabitants does not possess the commerce needed to trade. Does the white Tiger needed a shot or a high. Last month they are accused of manhandling an attendant who decided to swim across the moat.

Arrested at the Car Park

The Central Narcotics Bureau then arrested three Singaporeans at Singapore Zoo's car park. Another seven Malaysians were also arrested when their lockers were searched.The Court are expected to charge one Malaysian and one Singaporean held for drug importation and trafficking and face a minimum sentence of five years' jail and five strokes of the cane on conviction.

The performers were engaged in performing mock tribal dances and fire-breathing stunts in the Night Safari, a popular night time zoo experience.

A notice at the entrance stated that the show was suspended until further notice ,without mention the arrest of the artistes. It is unsure when he drug free troupes will be back again pending the result of the investigations.

The draconian laws on drug trafficking is punishable by death in Singapore if the amount exceed certain limits. That is why most were caught with little amount.
